Lightning Bounce Back With Win Over Maple Leafs

The Tampa Bay Lightning (42-26-7) defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs (43-23-9) 4-1 on Wednesday night in Toronto. Nikita Kucherov had two points in the game to take over first place in the NHL scoring race.

The game was tied 1-1 after the first period thanks to goals from Victor Hedman and Auston Matthews. The Lightning broke through with goals from Brayden Point and Steven Stamkos in the second, before Nicholas Paul lifted Tampa Bay to a 4-1 lead with a goal at the 14:19 mark of the third period.

The Lightning now head to Montreal where they will play the Canadiens in the second game of a back-to-back on Thursday night. Puck drop from Montreal is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Thursday.
